How does this quote relate to the topic of your essay?
According to Mark T. Cornard, in his book The Philosophy of neo-noir,

“What used to be the contemporary ‘space’ of Los Angeles city now becomes the ‘time’ of the distinct past…rather than looking for himself, for his own identity and how he may have lost it” (7).
In The Dark Knight Bruce Wayne/Batman lives two life, plays two distinct roles, and in the process finds himself looking at his past, and looking at his role in bring a stop to chaos and destruction imposed by The Joker. In other words what dose Batman stand for.

  1. Hello Anthony, first let me say great job on your presentation. What surprised me the most about your presentation was that you were the first one in doing it and having it ready and planned very well like Mr. Toth stated at the end of class. I’ve never seen anybody present like the way you did. In your presentation you showed exactly what Mr. Toth wanted. I believe that your presentation was pretty self-explanatory. What I also liked about your presentation was that when you were presenting, the work that you created was in depth. The power point was well organized and the information was said briefly and organized like I mentioned before. I also think that you chose a great film to do your research paper on since everyone is familiar with it. I think that your information connected very well with the elements of Classic Noir and Ne-Noir. Good job Anthony and hope that all goes well.

  2. Hello, very good job with your research paper presentation. The way you set up your powerpoint was very clear and interesting too. The pictures you used went well with the information you included in your outline. From all the information you included in your outline it is very obvious that you have learned a lot about classic film noir and neo noir as well. From what you showed in your powerpoint, I can tell you will have a very good paper, not only informative about both types of noir but also very interesting. :) You are a very good writer as well.

  5. Hi Anthony, Yes, I agreed with everyone, that you really have done a very good job up there. Being the first one up there and not being nervous is not everybody's cup of tea.Anyway, talking about your presentation, oit was awsome. I think, you are one of a few, who are on a very good range of timing yet, cover all the important points as well. You looked very confident about what you are talking about. The movie plot, characteristics of classic noir and link it to neo-noir was very well organized and delivered. I could see your hard work and it seemed you have done enough research of your film and paper. The descriptions of the processing of deviation of noir to neo-noir and use of quotes were nicely done. Great job Anthony!
